Reports claim that the Indian Team Manager has decided to lodge an official complaint against the ICC umpire Vineet Kulkarni for poor officiating. The hosts who have already lost the T20 series against South Africa have been trailing behind with 1-0 in the ongoing five match ODI series.
Team Manager Vinod Phadke, according to report on ESPN Cricinfo, said that the he would be complaining against the umpire at the end of the series.
Indian Captain MS Dhoni has earlier brought up the issue of poor umpiring after the 1st T20 at Dharamsala saying that a few decisions have not been their way. “we did not have a few decisions in our favor and sometimes these decision proves to be costly. It could have been different if Duminy was got out in the beginning of the game”.
Duminy has scored a 64 runs knock of just 38 balls to post a win in the first T20. However, at the crucial point of the game Umpire Vineet Kulkarni has turned down a strong appeal against Duminy for LBW, which the replays confirmed to be hitting the stumps.
In yet another instance, in the first ODI at Kanpur Shikhar Dhawan was given out for LBW off Morne Morkel. But, the replays showed that the South African was bowling from around the wicket and the ball was angled into the left-hander missing leg stumps, the Cricbuzz reported.
Kulkarni will be standing as the on-field umpire for the second ODI at Indore which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
