The Zimbabwe Cricket Board said in a statement that the India’s tour of Zimbabwe could be postponed to the next year, if the conflicts between the Tensports and BCCI are not resolved in time. Tensports is the official broadcaster of the series which will be played in the month of July.
According to the FTP, India should play three ODI’s and two T20’s against Zimbabwe starting from July7th. However, the existence of the series is in doubts as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issues with the official broadcaster of the series Tensports. The Zimbabwean Cricket Board said, that it will chair meetings with the BCCI officials on the sidelines of the ICC Annual meetings in Barbados, this month. The Board said that it would try to resolve the issues between the two, to mark the fair outcome of the series.
The Zimbabwean Cricket Board said, ” We have learnt that that there are issues between the BCCI and the Official broadcaster of the series Tensports. We are trying to resolve the issues between the two as soon as possible”. The Board also added that that the president and the CEO of the ZC will be in constant discussions to solve the issues.
However, the Board concluded in its statement that the Series may be pushed, if the issues are not solved in time. The Zimbabwean Board authorities have not yet contacted the Immigration authorities there over the Visas to the Indian players. one of the ZC officials said, ” Zimbabwe has a huge fan base for cricket game. Cricket is a passion in this country. The Board has cordial relationships with all the government offices and hence acquiring Visas is not an issue. The real issues are those which are to be discussed at the Barbados, the Cricbuzz reports.
