Ishant Sharma, the spearhead of the Indian bowling in the Tests, is down with hamstring injury. This could turn out to be a bad news to the Indian fans, as the fast bowler did not take field on the third day of the Delhi’s match against Haryana.
Ishant Sharma, has bowled six overs on the second day of the match against Haryana and did not take field on the third day completely. When asked about his absence, the Delhi team management said that he has pulled his hamstring.
Delhi bowling did lack aggression in Ishant’s absence. Haryana managed to score 265 with Manan Sharma taking six wickets. It is not yet clear about the seriousness of Ishant’s hamstring injury, usually a hamstring injury takes two to six weeks to get normal depending upon the extent of injury.
On the other hand, the BCCI will select the squad for the first two tests of the series against South Africa on October 19th. The selection of Ishant depends upon his state of medical condition. However, Ishant will have to miss his first test against South Africa due to an ICC ban against him. It could effect his participation in the second test, if the hamstring continuous to bother, the DNA reported.
