Indian former Test Batsman great, Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the in charge of the Under-19 and India-A teams by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI. Former International Batsmen and Critics have welcomed the decision made by the BCCI.
Speaking over his appointment, the classic Batsman often regarded as “the Wall”, said that he was happy to take part in improving the next generation players. ” I am happy to assist the juniors, with their skills who are also the next generation players. I would like to take all the efforts to increase the potentials of the skilled players in accordance to the requirements of the team,” Rahul said.
He added ” Under-19 and India- A teams are the important ones , as they decide tomorrow’s Indian cricket. It is the most crucial time in the career of any individual player, i would help them constantly to mould themselves into an output they want to be.
The former Test player also made it clear that he would discuss with the BCCI, on the overall development of the Indian cricket and the changes to be made to the present format of the domestic cricket. Rahul Dravid further added that he would also take the help of the senior players like Ravi Shastri and other BCCI officials to know the requirements of the team and prepare the young players accordingly, The Times of India reports.
