In what could be called a intelligent move from the Indian Cricket Board, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to formulate a Advisory panel which consists of the three Indian cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, Laxman and Saurav Ganguly. The trio will deal in the improvement of the game by helping the youngsters and advising the BCCI over taking a few critical decisions.
Speaking over the appointment, BCCI secretary Mr. Anurag Thakur said ” we have decided to form a advisory committee to help the game of cricket in India. The committee includes three legends Sachin, Laxman and Ganguly. I thank them for accepting the invitation on behalf of the BCCI”, The Times of India reports.
“The main aim of forming the panel was to improve the technical skills of the players during foreign tours. we are focusing on the overall enrichment of the players so that India can again get back to its commendable situation in all the three formats of the game ” Mr. Thakur said.
The BCCI secretary also said that the Board has identified a few areas, where the trio would be giving their invaluable advice. As per the sources, the BCCI wants batsmen to get trained with Tendulkar, before leaving for any foreign tours. Ganguly would look after the blue print of the team’s game plan, whereas Laxman on the formation of the team and bringing in new players. Laxman is also provided with the task of strengthening the structure of the domestic cricket.
