Pakistan selection committee recalled its dashing opener Ahmed shehzad, for the Srilanka test series after he was dropped from the National side on disciplinary accounts.
Chief selector Haroon Rashad said, that Shehzad had been a talented cricketer and that his last innings in the longer format of the game was a huge score. He said that the batsmen would be selected for the Pakistan’s tour of Srilanka. He added ” As far as we are concerned the only problem with him is his behaviour and discipline which the team management and the board will look after”.
The dashing opener has been dropped from all forms of cricket after the World Cup, with Captain Misbah-ul-haq and coach Waqar Younis having suggested the board to make him play domestic cricket for a year as his discipline was not up to the mark of an international player, rhe Ndtv reports.
The selection committee is also pushing for the fast bowlers to be fit.Rahat Ali and Ehsan Adil were suffering from fitness issues.
Along with Ahmed Shehzad, off-spinner Ajmal is also unlikely to get a recall. The mystery off-spinner has recently undergone a suspicious bowling test, after the umpires reported him. Later on, he was found breaching the international limit of fifteen degree rule and was banned from international cricket. He was cleared after the alteration of his bowling style.
