DUBAI: Australian all rounder Steven Smith, has topped the list of ICC Test rankings in the latest ICC Test rankings released by the International Cricket Council. Steven Smith became the second Australian after Michael Clarke in 2012, to clinch the top spot of the ICC Test rankings.
Australia is currently touring the West Indies. The dashing all rounder was at the fourth spot before the start of the series. Smith was awarded the man of the match award for his individual score of 199 in the first innings at Kingston, West Indies.
The Australian, was also the leading runs scorer in the Test Cricket since the past year, scoring 1226 runs at an average of 102.16. Smith has remarkably, batted at the No.3 position for the first time in this series of West Indies, the ESPNcricinfo reports.
South African Batsman AB de villiers was at the top position in the ICC Test rankings before Steven smith. The South African has conquered the position after Sangakkara, last month.
