Manchester United boss – Jose Mourinho – has said that the recnt criticism against Wayne Rooney has played a big role in negatively impacting him.
Rooney has been enduring a very frustrating season and his position in his club has been called into question as Manchester United prepares for Saturday’s match against Leicester.
Mourinho also said that as per his thought, a Wayne existed before the Slovakia- England and a Wayne still exists even after Slovakia-England.
Rooney did not impress in a mild field role even though the match between England and Trnava resulted into 1-0 respectively.
Jose Mourinho also added that he do not place any blame on Sam (Allardyce, England manager) at all, but all blames should be put on the spectators, who after the match between England and Slovakia, in his opinion were too strong with a team member who is recognized to be a very important player in the history of the football – English football.
“I think it was too much but I still think, a big boy like he is, he has to face it in a strong way.” added Jose Mourinho, who also insisted that his captain, Wayne Rooney is not that too important to be dropped from the starting XI.
When it comes to football game, everyone is equal or the same and if one of the players has to go on the bench, he goes on the bench. The same applies to the one who has to stay at home; he has to stay at home as per his desires. But that does not mean that you have a problem with such a player or that you do not have a trust in him.
“We have no problems. He is our captain but, of course, no privilege – he is like anyone else.” Conclude Mourinho.
