MUMBAI: The BCCI working committee has decided to constitute a sub-committee to study the Lodha panel’s IPL verdict and make recommendations to the Governing council over the conductance of the tournament. Speaking after the BCCI meeting in Mumbai, IPL Chairman Mr.Rajiv Shukla said, that a sub-committee comprising of six-members will be constituted soon.
Maintaining that the BCCI respects the verdict of the Lodha panel, Mr.Shukla said that the working committee has decided to form a small sub-committee to discuss and study the impact of the sentence over the tournament and make recommendations over the same to the Governing council of the IPL.
The sub-committee is expected to meet various stakeholders of the tournament and decide over the number of teams in the coming IPL 9 and the conductance of the tournament in the absence of two big teams.
Adding that all the sponsors and stakeholders have unanimously asked the BCCI to carry on the tournament, Mr.Shukla reiterated that the IPL tournament would be successfully held this season, just like every year.
The IPL Chairman refused to brief media about the details of the meeting and said that every issue will be addressed by the sub-committee. The members of the sub-committee are yet to be announced on Monday, the Times of India reports.
