The EPL winter transfer window is set to close in a few hours. There are few big name deals looking to go through before cutoff time, 23:00GMT tonight to be precise. Will the players make these moves?
Saido Berahino of West Bromwich Albion – Newcastle and Spurs are looking to lure the 22year old £21m rated striker. Newcastle needs goals to save themselves from relegation and a partner for Alex Mitrovic is required. Spurs need a side kick for a gem of their own in Harry Kane, who is thought to need some relief from the hectic Tottenham schedule. This transfer may go to the very last hours of the window.
Alex Teixeira of Shakhtar Donetsk – Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in the Brazilian forward who has hit the back of the net 22 times in only 15 League games this year. Liverpool need goals on the back of a poor goal scoring record this year because of injuries (Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings) and poor form (Christian Benteke) Liverpool’s offer is still far off what Shakhtar are demanding. Teixeira himself is willing to move, but we will see if Shakhtar lower their demands or Liverpool increase their offer for the transfer to happen.
Loic Remy of Chelsea – A proven EPL striker fed up of the Chelsea bench. Newcastle United is again interested and would enjoy a return of their former striker to St James’ Park. Leicester City has also sounded a solid level interest. Chances are high that Remy will leave Chelsea, who has signed Alex Pato on loan. Remy will almost certainly bring goals and value to either side if a transfer goes through.
Oumar Niasse of Lokomotiv Moscow – Everton is the front runner to seal the transfer for this 25year old Senegalese striker. It looks like a replacement for the departed Steve Naismith. 12 goals in 21 league matches have put his price at £13.5m for the man expected to back up the impressive Romelu Lukaku.
Mathieu Debuchy of Arsenal – Aston Villa and Sunderland are looking at a possible loan transfer to aid their escape from relegation. The Frenchman has had very little playing time ahead of the European Championship coming up in the summer in his home country. Aston Villa is currently the slight favorite, with fellow Frenchman Remi Garde in charge at Aston Villa.
Andriy Yarmolenko of Dynamo Kiev – He is a quality 26year old striker doing exceptionally well for both his club and the Ukraine National Team. Valued at £25m the powerful left footer has attracted interest from Everton Stoke city and Arsenal. A transfer is still far off from happening, and swift action will be required for anything to happen.
Dwight Gayle of Crystal Palace- Swansea City are looking at the possibility of a transfer for the quick forward. Opportunities for game time have been scarce this season, but the 26year old has quality in him. Swansea will have to cough up £7m to cover for the out of form Bafatembi Gomis and to aid the lively Andre Ayew up front. Crystal Palace is likely to accept a good offer for Gayle.
Bafatembi Gomis of Swansea City – Newcastle have been interested in making this transfer happen, and Swansea might look to cash in on the out of form striker, with £7m being mentioned as Gomis’ value. Newcastle is already in for a couple of goal getters and Gomis is just one of them.
Danny Rose of Spurs – Manchester United are rumored to be interested in the left footed player, possibly as cover for the injured Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw. Rose is currently in competition with Ben Davies at current club Tottenham and £6m sounds right for the 26 year old full back with a degree of EPL experience. The deal is far off at the moment, but Manchester united claim they can do extra ordinary thing in the transfer market.
Ben Chilwell of Leicester City – Arsenal has had their head turned by this teenage left back by scouting reports and England youth team performances. Arsenal though, already has Ignacio Monreal and Gibbs competing at left back, and Leicester want Chilwell to sign a new deal at the King Power. At this point, a transfer is nowhere near close to happening.
