Popular smartphone benchmarking website, AnTuTu has released the list of most popular smartphones in the major global markets. The website had also compiled the top ten lists of individual country’s which were mostly dominated by Chinese smartphone manufacturers.
According to AnTuTu, Chinese manufacturers dominate the top ten list of the popular smartphones in India. As expected, the most popular smartphone in India is the Xiaomi Redmi note 3 which still remains at the top of the list despite of being launched six months ago. The list is followed by One Plus 2, LeEco 1S and Lenovo K3 Note in the top five slots.
The website stated that the Indian market is the first landing point for the Chinese manufacturers, when ever they think of expanding their brand launch overseas. Also, the report highlighted the role played by Indian domestic brands like Micromax to compete with the foreign brands.
On the other hand, the list of most popular smartphones in the world is dominated by Samsung. AnTuTu reported that Samsung was the most trusted manufacturer globally. Samsung’s galaxy Note 5 tops the global list followed by Galaxy S6, Galaxy Edge and Galaxy S7 occupying the top four spots.
Apart from the global list, Samsung had a formidable command in the US market too. The company occupies as many as six positions in the top ten list of the US market. The rest of the places are occupied by One Plus and Nexus models. Interestingly, none of the Chinese models featured in the top ten list of the US market.
Coming to the dragon nation (China), majority of the slots in the top ten list are occupied by the domestic manufacturers. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 stays at the top of the list with Samsung S7 and Samsung Edge at 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
