After a long period of speculation, the new iPhone 7 is finally with us. Apple has continued its conventional style of naming by releasing the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. We have all been speculating about the new iOS 10 operating system but finally these devices will come pre-installed with the OS. There is still a lot more we have learnt about the smartphones.
Read through to explore everything you need to know about iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
iPhone 7 is waterproof
Well, the new iPhone 7 is not the major upgrade that Apple is planning; rumors are already out for bigger iPhone shift in 2017. But this one still comes with a whole new set of possibilities.
The two devices are water-and –dust resistant. That allows you to use them freely without the fear that they may get wet. You can now go with your phone 1 meter underneath for about 30 minutes.
The resemblance to the 2015 iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus is the same considering their maintenance of the same aluminum body. The screen sizes have also gone unchanged. Also, the screen resolution is the same whereby the Plus sports 1920 x 1080 pixels and the smaller version having 1334 x 750 pixels. But the new screens are 25 percent brighter and include several color additions.
It is still possible to notice some differences. The surface of the two is pristine, mirror-like while the finishing is high-gloss.
Get a case for iPhone 7
To achieve the high-gloss finishing of the jet black iPhone, the manufacturers featured 9-step anodization and polishing process. Also, the surface is harder than any of its predecessors. The company explains via its website that “its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.”
Apple recommended that you get a glass protector for your iPhone 7 because it can get scratches.
The antenna bands are no longer found at the top and at the bottom. Rather, they have been shifted to the bottom and top edges where they are barely visible.
Glamor of colors
iPhone 7 also comes with a whole new variety of colors. So instead of you having to pick from the conventional gold, rose gold and silver, there is glossy “jet black” and matte color. The famous space grey color has been replaced by the jet black.
The rear camera also looks slightly different but the most notable additions can be seen on iPhone 7 Plus where is has dual cameras. This is the first iPhone to have this but of course not the first in the market. LG-G5 was the first to bring it onboard.
Goodbye to the headphone jack
Gone are the days when you’ll listen to your music through the headphone port. You will now use either a Lightning converter or the wireless headphones for music. This has of course offended some people and therefore Apple took steps to make up for the decision.
You will get in the iPhone 7 box a pair of Lightning-connected (wired) EarPods for your 3.5mm headphone plug.
The problem with this is that you will not be able to charge you phone and listen to music simultaneously.
But both iPhones use the stereo speakers at the top and bottom of the devices. This makes your loudspeaker music more appealing.
