The much-hyped iPhone 8 is without doubt emerging as one of the most exciting smartphones in 2017. The latest leaks will only continue to further advance that…
But even as more amazing features continue to emerge, the price details are little by little shocking the expectant users. Latest price leaks suggest that the new iPhone 8 will carry an asking price in excess of $1.000. But why should Apple ask such a high amount of money for its anniversary smartphone? We have the answer.
Apple will be the only 2017 smartphone to integrate the wireless charging technology, reports Mac Otakara.
Well, this may be exciting for those looking forward for it but those waiting on an upgrade of iPhone 7 will be disappointed. Prior reports had shown that the upgrades – iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus – will both hop on the wireless bandwagon.
Mac Otakara claims that to make these models marketable, Apple will have to work around them. The reputable site says that the Silicon Valley-based firm will use Luxshare, the Chinese company behind the inductive charging in the Apple Watch, to sell separate wireless chargers for the devices. But there is nothing suggesting these will be compatible with the previous iPhone members. Getting their accessories may similarly be challenging.
What of the 3.5mm headphone jack?
But that may not be the only bad news facing iPhone 7 fans. Mac Otakara adds that there is a possibility of the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus failing to integrate the Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adaptor that came alongside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus. The reason for this change hasn’t yet been provided.
5.8-inch screen, all-glass body?
Other reports suggest that iPhone 8 will come packed with a 5.8-inch screen in addition to a glass and aluminum body. This latest leak only cements what we have known for quite a long time now.
Then there is also the issue of boosting its water resistance capability.
According to leaks from the world number one smartphone maker, the new iPhone 8 may upgrade IP68 water and dust resistance ratings. What this implies is that Apple will seek to have a device that can withstand water submersion of 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. As at the moment, only Samsung Galaxy S7 has this ability.
In addition, it is rumored that Apple is making a huge redesign of the iPhone 7.
iPhone 8 Release Date
Possible Dates: 29th June, 4th Sept, or 11th Sept
Apple is known to hold strict dates for launching new devices and the iPhone 8 will be no different. The fact that Apple is yet to begin spreading rumors on the release date does not imply we are completely in the dark.
Right from the time iPhone 4S was launched in 2011, Apple has maintained September to be its preferred date for announcing a new member to the iPhone line. We have no reason suggesting that iPhone 8 will take a different direction.
The exact September date remains unknown but most analysts have collectively agreed that iPhone 8 will be released this fall.
But generally, if things remain as they have been in the past then expect the new iPhone 8 either the week of September 4 or September 11.
But again, remember this year is Apple’s Anniversary so the tech giant may choose a different release date, preferable June 29th when the first iPhone was released.
After the release, orders will be expected to drop in the last few weeks of the chosen month and then in-store release to follow later the same month.
