Build quality is slightly better on F500 because of its material. Where using f300 feels plasticky. We have tested two fightsticks side by side, and we can tell you that the f300 buttons and joystick feel and sound plasticky. The body of the f300 also feels cheap compared to the f500.
So, we would say f500 is a clear winner here.
Performance
Both the Mayflash F300 and F500 use a stock button set from Mayflash. The buttons feel slightly mushy, although it’s not too noticeable for someone who is new to fighting games. In addition, the joystick has been less responsive than I would like on both models of fightstick, but that can be easily fixed by modding them with higher quality parts such as Sanwa pieces (which are readily available).
If you had to pick between either model, we would say the Mayflash F500 was marginally better because there were some inconsistencies in its performance over time; however, if you don’t want to spend any money modifying your sticks, then these will work well enough even though they’re built out of cheaper materials.
