This year has seen a number of incredible new phones. These range from the Samsung Galaxy note 9 due to be launched in just over a week to the iPhone X currently in stores. Today we won’t be talking about either of these phones, however. Today we’ll be talking about one of the best GSM unlocked phones near the lower end of the price spectrum, that phone is the Motorola moto g5 S plus.

The moto g5 S plus features a top of the line qualcomm Snapdragon™ 625 processor. It comes with 3GB RAM and either 32 or 64 GB internal storage from the star. On top of this, customers have the option to add up to 128GB of extra storage with a microSD card. For anyone who uses a lot of apps, this will leave them with plenty of space for storage and the processing power to ensure the phone still runs like a charm.
This phone comes with a 12 mp dual facing rear lenses, which gives it SLR camera quality photos. This is a slight down grade from the g4 plus which had a 16 mp rear facing camera, but still very nice. Having a slightly lower quality camera will be disappointing for customers who are used to taking photos with the g4. However, the camera has other great features that will more than makeup for this. These features include professional mode, panorama mode, and an 8x zoom in on photos.
The Moto g5 S plus comes with a fingerprint scanner that acts not only as a way to unlock the phone should you forget your password, but also allows you to use Google pay simply by scanning your fingerprint. This second feature will be a plus to anyone with young children, as more than a few parents have had to email Google so they could get accidental charges or app purchases reversed.
Motorola is known for building phones that are not only high quality, but also quite durable. This latest model most certainly has lived up to the reputation. The Motorola moto g5 plus has also been build with a heavy duty steal body and a water-resistant gorilla glass 3 screen. This means if you’re clumsy and drop this phone while walking, it’ll most likely to both survive the fall; and to do so with the screen still in one piece.
The phone is also a decent size, with a 5.5 inch screen. It has a full HD 1080 resolution. This means any pictures or movies viewed on the screen will come with excellent details and image clarity. For anyone who reads, watches movies on their phone, or surfs the web often on their phone, this will mean far less eyestrain. And that’s always a good thing.
With the trademarked turbocharger, the moto g5 s plus will be able to fully recharge in as little as minutes. Motorola also claims that the phone can remain charged throughout the day. But that is most likely an exaggeration and it’s more likely the phone will stay charged around 7-8 hours once the phone’s been customized. The phone will come in dark grey of gold if bought directly from Motorola.com and will cost $229 before taxes. If it’s purchased from Amazon, the moto g5 s plus will come in at $204.99 costing customers $24 less. It will still only come in the gold or dark grey, but there are plenty of cases to choose from for those who want more than the base colors.
