The much anticipated Apple iPhone 7 is now available for pre-order and will hopefully be in the hands of consumers by September 16, 2016.
According to Apple the new model has some very impressive improvements.
The new design is sleek and seamless with water resistance to splashes and light spills, with beautiful new colors and finishes. Space grey has been replaced by a high gloss jet black and a matte black. The original silver, gold and rose gold finishes are still available.
The home button has been entirely redesigned with the Apple Taptic engine and is completely customizable to the owner’s preferences.
Unlocking the phone is now a snap with fingerprint sensors called Touch ID.
One of the best improvements is to the onboard camera. The 12 megapixel camera rivals even some of the most expensive SLR cameras available today. The face time camera has an impressive HD 7 megapixels allowing for better selfies and real time conversations. Optical image stabilization reduces motion blur, an f/1.8 aperture and a new six element lens create even better pictures in low light situations. The new four LED flash enables the flash to adjust to current light situations reducing too dark or too light exposures. The advanced megapixels and aperture apply to video as well. One can film in slow motion and time lapse with the ability to edit and instantly share on social media or through e-mail. An A 10 Fusion chip powers photos and videos with the result of clarity and color that will delight even the most discerning photographer. With a zoom up to 10X and wide angle and telephoto lenses the new iPhone 7 allows more creativity than ever before.
The colorful new display is 25% brighter and more vivid than any of the previous models. The Retina HD display provides cinema standard colors that more closely match real life. The iPhone 7 has a 4.7” display while the new iPhone 7 Plus boasts a remarkable 5.5” screen perfect for videos, sports events and real time video calls.
Audio has also been vastly improved. True stereo speakers with twice the range of the iPhone 6S speakers are now standard to the iPhone family. Redesigned Ear Pods with a lightning connector are included with the phone delivering a powerful sound experience. Don’t be afraid to crank it up with this new feature, you’ll be glad you did! Not only do the new Ear Pods provide exceptional sound, Apple’s new wireless Air Pods, available this fall, double as ear phones and a microphone eliminating the need for bulky headsets.
Speeds up to 450 megabytes per second deliver lightning fast downloads and eliminate costly buffering time. If voice service is unavailable when outside the calling range VoLTE allows outstanding quality over Wi-Fi calls.
The new iOS 10 is faster and more responsive than any of the previous models. Even Siri has been improved. Rather than you adapting to Siri, it is now the other way around. Siri learns the way you speak and adapts. She even works within downloaded and core apps new to Apple. The new iOS 10 also learns as you go. Calendar events automatically sync with Maps giving instant directions and suggested locations. The ability to type multilingual messages on the same keyboard saves time and hassles.
As always, privacy and security are paramount. App support, encryption and location information are kept private unless permission is given. The updated Safari browser allows private browsing, tracking protection and cookie blocking. Sharing and sync between devices is made possible through iCloud and even gives one the ability to finish a document or continue a movie across Apple devices.
The new iPhone 7 retails for $649 or $32.41 per month on the iPhone Upgrade program and the 7Plus goes for $769 or $37.41 per month. Both are a true bargain considering all of the new and improved features included on the iPhone 7 and 7Plus.
