Top 5 New Features in Android 7.0 Nougat
Finally we have Android 7.0 Nougat with us! Well it’s not in your phone yet but will soon be. Some Google’s next Nexus brands are already running on the new OS. And if you are eagerly waiting for the Android 7.0 Nougat update release, then your dreams will be a reality in the next few months.
Android fans will be happy to hear that the new OS is worth the wait. By just looking at the interface, Android 7.0 Nougat does not seem all flashy but getting deeper is a whole new story. Here are the top 5 new features that will leave the iOS users jealous.
Instant Apps
Google’s new instant apps feature may not have gotten the limelight it deserves but it’s awesome. It is a direct rival to Apple’s on-device app that was introduced some years ago. In fact, we can easily go ahead and term it one of the biggest additions in Android.
What Instant Apps does is that it allows an Android user to immediately use an app within Google Play Store. No downloading, no purchasing! It gives you an opportunity to test an app before installing on your device. This is a big move, considering it will put the developers on their toes.
Power Saving Capabilities
Android 6.0 Marshmallow came with the Doze feature to help your battery last longer. But Android 7.0 Nougat is taking the feature a notch higher. What the original Doze did is that it placed the smartphone in a dormant state when it wasn’t being used. But Doze revolutionizes everything by allowing users to still enjoy Doze even when the phone is in motion.
Background System Updates
This may not be a top-notch upgrade but you will easily rate it as a game changer.
The new OS lets updates on the operating system to take place in the background over WIFI but will not be installed. They are stored as an image and then boot into the newly updated image the next time the device reboots.
Daydream VR
At a long last a compatible virtual reality platform is here with us! Google has seen companies built VR that may bring compatibility problems. But in efforts to harmonize everything, Google has built Daydream software and hardware platform for VR.
This saves LG, Samsung and other equals from having to create their own VR platform or get other partners to do that for them. For the developers, it will now be possible to build a single VR app that is usable on all Android devices.
Open multiple windows side by side
Samsung’s Galaxy Note users have enjoyed this feature for quite some time now. The good news is that all Android users will now exploit this new capability.
Android 7.0 Nougat lets users to open two applications side by side on the screen. That implies that you can respond to an email while still watching a YouTube video. Or update Facebook while you are busy reading a webpage on the other half of your screen.
