Apple’s getting ready to release three new iphones. Based on the rumors, they’ll be set to come out sometime between September or October of 2018. These new models should share many of the features with the iPhone X. This would include such features as the current facial recognition technology, 12mp front-facing camera, and possibly their full bezel design. Along with these current features, apple has submitted patents for a few exciting new technologies. These ideas, if featured in their upcoming models, would make the next generation of iPhones truly state of the art.
One of the most innovative and exciting of their new designs that may be added to the new iPhone, would be a micro-LED screen. According to androidauthority.com and the US patent office, apple has already been approved for a patented design that would allow it to embed an infrared fingerprint scanner directly into the LED display. This all would be able to be done while still maximizing the brightness and clarity of images displayed on the phone screen, meaning you’d still have an extremely high-quality image. It is possible that in the future, they may be able to embed their facial recognition technology directly into screens as well.
The iPhone X has a stainless steel body and is both water and dust resistant. Unfortunately, as any previous iPhone owner can tell you, it’s nowhere near shatter resistant. In fact, the phone is quite prone to breaking without the use of a protective case. Several shatter tests on the current phone X have shown that a single drop can and will shatter the glass screen. Hopefully this will change with the new models, however, it would probably still be a good idea to invest in a silicone case and care plan.
There are also rumors that the new phone may be more affordable. If this turns out to be true then this may give Apple a wider customer base. This possible price cut combined with the possibility of the using innovative micro-led technology may finally end the iPhone vs Android debate. In the past, although Apple’s iphones have been very good, androids have met and often been of better quality for a substantially lower price. They have often also been far more durable with competitors such as Motorola making phones that have glass that is truly shatter resistant. As beautiful as the full bezel design is, it may be better for them to go with a steel or aluminum back similar to the iPhone 8 or earlier models.
With Apple having suffered misunderstood rumors of problems with exploding phones, this may help them bring back any customers they who panicked and switched brands. This was a problem that was blown wildly out of proportion after Samsung had to recall one of it’s own models due to manufacturing errors with the battery. If you’re concerned that your phone may catch fire take a look at this article written by Sam Castillo – a lifewire. He lists the warning signs that your lithium ion battery is malfunctioning and what you should do to either prevent or remedy the situation.
All in all, it will be interesting to see what apple comes up with for their new phones. Whether that is affordability or state of the art technological features, we’ll soon find out. Until they are actually released, however, we’ll have to wait and wonder. No matter what features or new designs they add to the latest iphone, one thing will be certain. Apple will be sure to have loads of people lined up waiting to buy the iPhone as soon as it comes out. Of that, we can be certain.
