DHAKA: India crushed the Bangladesh by 77 runs in the last match of the three match ODI series. The Indian team has escaped a white wash after losing the series to Bangladesh. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan(75) and MS Dhoni(69), has helped India to seal a comfortable victory after losing the toss.
Having lost the toss, the Indian team was put in to bat first. Though the Indian opening pair started well, Rohith Sharma(29), has failed to convert his good start into a big score and got out to the young bowler Mustafizur. Virat Kohli joined Shikhar Dhawan and led a good partnership, however Virat too was not able to convert his good start of 25 runs to a big score.
Interestingly, MS Dhoni has moved up the Indian batting order providing support to the troubling middle order. Accordingly, the duo of Dhoni and Dhawan have contributed a solid partntership before Dhawan got out at an individual score of 75, a few runs just short of his century.
Dhoni, later joined with Ambati Rayudu to produce another good partnership before getting out at an individual score of 75 runs to Mortaza. Suresh Raina’s rapid firing at the death overs has helped India get pass the psychological mark of 300 runs. Eventually, India ended its innings at 317/6.
Bangladesh lost Tamim Iqbal(5), off Dhawal Kulkarni early in their chase. Soumya Sarkar(40) and wicket keeper Litton Das(34) have fighted back with a good partnership but was in vain, as the Bangladesh middle order collapsed with Rahim(24) and Hasan(20) not contributing much in the high-score chasing game.
Though Sabbir(43) scored in an attacking mode at the end, the damage has already been done to the Bangladesh team with the required run rate steeping high. Eventually, Bangladesh were all out for 240. Suresh Raina topped the Indian bowling with 3/45.
Bangladesh have already cinched the ODI series by winning the first two matches, the Cricbuzz reports.
