Naughty Dog guaranteed that they would be revealing a potential release date for “The Last of Us 2” and that it would happen after they complete work on “Unchartered 4.”
According to several reports, Nolan North, voice actor in “The Last of Us,” mistakenly stated that a sequel for The Last of Us on PlayStation is coming.
According to a report by Game Rant, North apparently went in front of a panel earlier this year and announced that the studio could be working on a release date for “The Last of Us 2.”
In the meantime, assumptions have been announced by several websites regarding what the future of the game could potentially have.
As claimed by Movie Pilot, they announced the possibility of having Joe killed off in the game and that the story of “The Last of Us 2” on its release date could possibly show Ellie’s survival alone.
The report stated that if the sequel features the same setting and same characters, most people would not want Joel to return. In addition, they pictured an emotional scene where Joel dies in Ellie’s arms, attempting to save her from the infected, potentially trying to kill a stage 5 Infected which was removed from the first game. After that, Ellie is alone and fighting for her life. The game could feature several emotional episodes of Ellie reminiscing about Joel.
There are no official words regarding when the release date of “The Last of Us 2” would be, but it is predicted to be released after Naughty Dog complete their current project, “Unchartered 4: A Thief’s End,” which will be available by March 2016 for PlayStation 4.
