Can you recall how tech bloggers seemed to be very excited about the iPhone XR because was almost like the very luxurious iPhone XS but extremely cheaper? It seemed the public is not jazzed.
According to the report that was released by Nikkei Asian Review, Apple has decided to cancel its production boost that it was offering for the iPhone XR, which is seemingly has not been selling as the company had initially estimated. However, the iPhone 8 has been selling more than the expectation. Maybe, the users like the home button.
For Apple’s accountants, this is likely to be an awful surprise. Centred on the marketing strategy of the company, the new iPhones which are Face-ID enabled were designed for success. Earlier, there were some murmurs about the poor sales of the iPhone X. The murmurs were later disavowed by the Apple CEO Mr Tim Cook when he announced that the company’s best- selling model for every week was the first iPhone without a Home button.
This was also the first $1,000 iPhone, leaving many investors and stakeholders wondering if the four-figure sum may be too much for the buyers at the same time when extremely cheaper smartphones which are able to perform all the tasks that you would want a smartphone to perform.
After the iPhone X, the iPhone XR was released. This device had a big and pretty screen. Most of its features resembled those of the expensive iPhone X, and its price was set at $750, this was very cheap as compared to that of iPhone X. Unlike the iPhone X and the bother earlier iPhone models, the iPhone XR do not have Touch ID security and Home Button. Now that the Apple lets you unlock your iPhone with your face, why would you like to use those old feature?
It is very difficult to say. If Nikkei have the correct source, then there are presumably many individuals who would like to keep their old Home button iPhones with a slightly smaller screen. The report from the Nikkei’s sources is that about one hundred thousand fewer iPhone XR units are produced daily by Foxconn. This is fewer than what Apple had initially planned – it is down by 20% to 25% from the initial optimistic outlook.
Meanwhile, there are some increment which have been put in place by Apple in the orders for iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 by approximately 5 million units. Nikkei did not feel shy about why this is likely to be case:
The moves aimed towards adding orders for year-old iPhone models and the suspension of extra production for the latest products vividly shows that Apple lacks innovation and that the company is unable to energize consumers with this kind of a pricing strategy.
So, it seems as if the new iPhone X series is not as jazzy as the company was expecting. But maybe, it is no surprising so much that the new Face-ID enabled iPhone with big-screen is not that exciting. Maybe, the users are really in love with the Home button – which is not found in the iPhone XR, while the iPhone 8 have the Home button. In addition, the iPhone 8 has got a haptic feedback too.
By tapping the phone, you will really feel as if you are doing something. Definitely, you do not feel like there is an incredible and sophisticated camera built by Apple that is able to scan the face the owner of the phone at unbelievable angles and unlock the bank account of the user.
The Home button is more simple to the users has compared to the sophisticated camera.
